The robot hands built by Magnus Johnson (with some help from Christian Balkenius). The three hands use different principles to perceive the shape of an object. Hand 1 has only a single degree of freedom and nine touch sensors. Hand 2 has a large number of piezo-electric sensors and seven degrees of freedom. Hand 3 has no sensors on the fingers but uses proprioception to determine when it touches an object.
