Abstract
: Crucial concepts of traditional epistemology, in particular that of a justified belief, presuppose ideal rationality. I argue for the possibility of a normative naturalized epistemology, that investigates the best strategies for people to follow, given that they have limited cognitive powers. I formulate a conjecture, that norms of perfect rationality are appropriate to cognitive processes involving limited numbers of beliefs, but not to global processes involving indefinite numbers of beliefs.
