Abstract
: One of the postulates used in the celebrated AGM theory of belief revision due to Peter Gärdenfors and his associates, Carlos Alchourrón and David Makinson, is called Recovery. It is motivated by a principle of information economy: no information should get lost if we were to contract by a belief and then immediately expand by the same belief. Despite its initial appeal, the Recovery postulate has been questioned from an intuitive point of view. In this note Neil Tennant's recent criticism of Recovery is examined and found incorrect.
