Instructions on how to build The Builder Robot were published on Instructables.com last Friday and over the weekend it received over 20.000 views.
The Builder Robot is a complete mobile robotics platform that can be put together from 3D printed files. It includes a holonomic drive system, an arm with a gripper and an active vision system. The robot uses an on-board computer to run the Ikaros system that is responsible for sensory processing, real-time control of the servos, and execution of various cognitive modules.
The design files have been downloaded over 400 times from Thingiverse.
The concise building instructions are available as a report in the LUCS Minor series.
