The Cognitive Zoology Group

The Facilities

The research facilities at Lund University Primate Research Station Furuvik are part of the normal housing of the orangutans and chimpanzees and allow flexible ways of studying them through dedicated solutions that have research conditions in mind. These areas are placed to allow full view for the zoo visitors.

We are especially grateful to Sparbanksstiftelsen Nya, The Crafoord Foundation and The Krapperup Foundation for funding the construction of our facilities. Generous donations for its development have also been given by Pia Ståhl-Althin, The Magn Bergvall Foundation, Elizabeth Rausing’s Memorial Fund, The Foundation Landshövding Per Westling’s Memorial Fund, The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
